"B.B.”is our 13 year old clinic cat here at Mission Veterinary Hospital. She came to us in early March 2008 after her owners found out they were moving and couldn't keep her. She can be found throughout the the clinic purring and waiting for someone to pet her. She is very loving and makes a great addition to our hospital family.

Laurie joined Mission Veterinary Hospital as our new Practice Manager in May 2010. She has worked in the veterinary industry since 2004 after completing a Veterinary Office Assistant course.
Laurie & her husband have two dogs: "Maggie" (Treeing Walker Coonhound cross) & "Bender" (Labrador Retriever). "Maggie" was rescued by Noah's Wish in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. After her ordeal she needed months of behaviour training and medication to help her with her sometimes severe separation anxiety. Happily, she has settled into her new forever home very nicely. She even has her own easy chair to lounge on! "Bender" is a typical Lab: obsessed with his ball, motivated by food, and happy to greet everyone he meets. He is also a canine blood donor at the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley. “Maggie” & “Bender” are inseparable and go (almost) everywhere together.
In the summer of 2009 Laurie fulfilled a long-term dream of getting her motorcycle license and a motorcycle. She rides it as much as possible rain or shine; you're likely to see it parked outside the clinic.

Jane was the Practice Manager at our hospital, and is currently filling in as a Veterinary Assistant while she waits to start an exciting new chapter in her life in Minnesota! She has been working at Mission Veterinary Hospital since 1998.  She has 4 cats: "Hollywood" is a cat that had been in a movie before Jane got him from a pet store when he was just a kitten-that's where his name came from. He is Jane's most sensitive cat and loves to cuddle with "Scruffy" who came to Jane as a stray-he was in bad shape and was nearly hairless. He was quite "scruffy" looking indeed! He is a beautiful tabby cat now, whose favorite thing is getting attention from just about everyone! "Cricket is Jane's miracle kitty. She was only 10 days old when Jane took her home, along with her orphaned brother that she helped nurse back to health. "Cricket" was much more scrawny than her brother at the time, which reminded her of a cricket. Now she is all grown up, but still quite tiny. She loves to play fetch with her favourite toy. "Sam" who was "Cricket's" brother passed away on Easter Sunday last year. He was a very special cat and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Last but not least, "Faith" is a short haired brown tabby that Jane adopted from the FVHS. She lives up to her nick name "brat cat" as she can usually be found getting into something she shouldn't be!

Kris is one of our Veterinary Nurses here at Mission Veterinary Hospital. She graduated from the Long Medical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona in 1987 and received her Veterinary Technician certificate in 1990. She has been working at Mission Veterinary Hospital since January 2002. She is married and a mother to 4 children, 1 English Mastiff, "Meg", who is from her first litter of mastiff puppies and 1 cat, "Badger". Meg is now 5 years old and she likes to "talk" to her cat  "Badger", who was brought to Mission Vet Hospital in 2004 after he had been hit by a car. After trying to find his owners with no success and many weeks of nursing him back to health, Kris brought "Badger" to her house to recover. She has had him ever since!

Tara is our Veterinary Nurse who graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Thompson Rivers University in May 2008. Before starting her studies in Kamloops Tara lived in the Yukon for the better part of 2 yrs. Tara has one dog named “Bodie”. He is a 6 yr old Boxer/Pit bull. Tara first met “Bodie” in 2003 when he was abandoned at an animal clinic she worked at. Initially with intentions of just fostering “Bodie” to get him out of a cramped kennel Tara grew very much attached and eventually adopted him. After dedicating a great deal of time towards training and socializing him, both Tara and “Bodie” learned a lot about the ‘dog world’. “Bodie” proved very quickly to be a loving, intelligent and amazing dog who wins the heart of everyone who gets to know him. He greets Tara everyday by trotting around with his blanket in his mouth when she returns home from work. “Bodie” is sure to put a smile on Tara’s face several times a day. Together they go for many walks, jogs and hikes. Other than at work you rarely see Tara without “Bodie”. They have been each other’s loyal constant throughout many moves and hectic times.

Jessica is our Veterinary Nurse who graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2006. She previously worked at Mission Veterinary Hospital for 3 years before deciding to go away to university to become an Animal Health Technologist, and rejoined the team in the spring of 2009. Jessica has 2 cats: "Lillie", a domestic short-haired brown tabby and "Bailey" a grey domestic long-haired cat.

Alicia started volunteering at Mission Veterinary Hospital in March 2005 for a work experience course. She was hired in September 2006 and is one of MVH's Veterinary Assistants. Alicia has a 3-legged Yellow Labrador Retriever named "Cheeko". "Cheeko" lost his right front leg when he was hit by a car. You would never know that he only has 3 legs because he loves to chase his tail! He loves to play with his kong and is always up for a good game of hide and seek. Alicia also has a Beagle named "Tucker" that she got in January 2007 as a puppy. He loves to play with "Cheeko" and follows him everywhere he goes. They are best buddies! Alicia's newest addition is  "Dominic" a domestic short hair black and white cat who thinks he is a dog! He loves playing with his two big brothers and being a "snuggle monkey".

Angie is one of our Veterinary Nurses. Angie graduated from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) with her Animal Health Technologist certificate in 2003. She is crazy for exotics and had an amazing opportunity to spend her 2 month practicum at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Angie has 2 cats. “Fisher” is her 3 legged tough guy, who in an act of territorial bravery with a raccoon, lost his leg. “Chloe” was a surprise addition when one morning she went to let Fisher in, and there was a tiny kitten at his feet, barely a few weeks old. Chloe has been his sidekick ever since!

Brittany is our newest Veterinary Nurse here at MVH. Brittany started at Mission Veterinary Hospital as a hospital attendant in 2006. After working here for 2 years she went away to Olds College in Alberta from 2008-2010 to become an Animal Health Technologist. She recently returned to MVH and is looking forward to beginning her career here as a Veterinary Nurse. She has a beautiful Chocolate Labrador named “Cohen” who she enjoys spending her free time with at the park. She also has an 11 year old white, grey and brown tabby with big green eyes named “Taylor” who loves to drool on her lap!

Tanya is a Receptionist/Vet Assistant here at Mission Veterinary Hospital. She graduated from West Coast College Veterinary Assistant Program in May 2009 and joined our team in June 2009. Tanya is “owned” by 3 very spoiled dogs; “Telly”, a Pekinese who is a huge mama’s boy, “Lindy”, a Japanese chin who is very demanding when it comes to belly rubs, and “Tobias”, a Pekinese cross is the newest addition who can run so fast you would swear he was a Border Collie! Tanya says her dogs are the best things that ever happened to her.

Carlene is a Veterinary Assistant at Mission Veterinary Hospital. She has been working here since 1999. Carlene's newest addition to her family is their male black long-haired German Shepherd puppy named "Dozer" which is short for "Bulldozer" (named by her 3 year old son who loves to play with trucks - he's a typical little boy!).  He is a very good puppy and loves playing with her kids. He also loves to play a good game of soccer in the backyard. Carlene and her husband started a family in 2006. They have 2 boys and 2 girls.

Rhiannon joined our team in March of 2010 with a background in
community cohesion and customer service. Rhiannon, her husband, and
two children share their home in Mission with several furry family
members. "Lupe"; a sweet fawn Chihuahua, "Milkshake"; a rambunctious
American Eskimo/Shiba Inu, and three cats: "Kramer", a brown tabby,
"Monte", an orange tabby, and "Roxy" whom has been dubbed the “Miracle Kitty.”

"Roxy" had been severely injured when she was hit by a car in  2003.

After surgeries, months of recovery from a brain injury and much
rehabilitation, "Roxy" is a happy, well adjusted member of the family.
Although she has several special needs, she has taught everyone a lot
about perseverance and will power. As part of her daily routine, she
is carefully groomed and cared for by "Monte" and "Milkshake".
