The early physiotherapists worked with returning wounded WWI soldiers, helping them regain their strength and manage their pain.

The same principles of treatment apply to animals as they do to humans.  The techniques of manual mobilizations and exercise prescriptions, together with modalities such as ultrasound, restore normal movement and function

These days, with demanding dog sports such as agility, flyball, obedience, freestyle and lure coursing, there is a need for physiotherapy to keep these dogs in top form and to return to full and pain free function as quickly as possible after an injury.

Physiotherapy is proven to speed recovery from surgery and relieve pain associated with these conditions:

·         Cranial cruciate ligament ruptures and surgery

·         Hip dysplasia

·         Patellar luxations with or without surgery

·         Spinal disorders and post spinal surgery

·         Obesity management and conditioning

·         Osteoarthritis
