Senior Pet Wellness Program

The many aging changes that we all experience –stiff joints, weight gain, digestive problems, increased thirst and more frequent urination often prompts us to seek our doctor’s advice.  Our pets however, cannot talk and age about 4-7 times faster than we do. They depend on you to notice these changes and obtain medical care and advice for these as well as the HIDDEN aging changes you cannot see. Only a veterinarian can detect an enlarged heart or a damaged kidney before symptoms become obvious.

We at Mission Veterinary Hospital understand that aging changes can be difficult to detect at first glance. We know how special your pet is and want to help them live a long, full active life. That is why we have developed our senior wellness program to detect problems early so they can be treated with lifestyle modifications, diet changes and medications to allow you to enjoy the Golden Years together!

Our Senior Pet Wellness Program includes:

Complete Nose to tail Physical Exam Performed twice yearly to detect hidden abnormalities. Includes all necessary vaccines and nail trims at time of exam.

A comprehensive blood and urine test - including a 25 point blood screen and a full urinalysis to detect changes in organ function

A doppler blood pressure reading because senior pets are prone to high blood pressure

A fecal test - to rule out parasites that may be hazardous to you and your family

An eye pressure checkbecause senior pets are prone to glaucoma

A Preferred Client Card which saves you 10% off food, flea and deworming products, sick pet exams and dental procedures.

Individually these tests add up to over $487.00. Because of our commitment to your pet's health, we offer this program to you
at $399.00 per year, a savings of almost 20%.

We recommend this program to all pets 7 years of age or older.  In addition to screening your pet for hidden illness, the Senior Wellness Program provides two other important functions. Should your pet require surgery, it can serve as a pre-anesthetic work up and provides a baseline to establish the normal blood values for your pet.
